Anyone can download Minecraft: Education Edition free! You can try Minecraft: Education Edition for free by using the free trial, or by downloading the demo lesson. You will require an account in order to take advantage of the trial for free, either an Office 365 Education or Microsoft 365 account. The demo lesson is not requiring any login or account. This article explains how to make use of the demo lesson as well as the trial version for free.



Technical requirements



Minecraft: Education Edition can be played on Chromebook, iPad, Mac and PC.  Best Games Before you play Minecraft: Education Edition, make sure to read the System Requirements article to ensure your device is supported.



About the trial free



The trial version is fully functional and has all features available in the paid version. The trial is compatible to Code Connection and Classroom Mode. These features are explained in the Get Started with Code Connection and Get Startted with Classroom Mode articles.



The trial is limited to 25 logins per teachers with an Office 365 Education Account and 10 for all users. After that, a paid license is required to continue playing. Trial logins aren't able to be refreshed. Contact our support team right away if you have any questions. Minecraft Education Edition can be purchased after your trial logins have been used.

Follow these steps if have an Office 365 Education or Microsoft 365 account to get the trial for free.



Select the Minecraft: Education Edition version you want to download from the Get Minecraft download page. Install the version of Minecraft: Education Edition that you downloaded. About the demo lessons



Demo lessons allow you to try Minecraft Education Edition for free , and without an account. Each demo lesson has limited capabilities, for instance, the worlds and progress can't be saved, and it's not possible to join or host an online game. You can experience a full Minecraft lesson by playing a demo lesson. You can experience each lesson as many times as you like.



Start a demo lesson



These steps will enable you to take a no-cost lesson.



Select the Minecraft: Education Edition version you want to download from the Get Minecraft download page. Install the version of Minecraft: Education Edition that you downloaded. Start Minecraft: Education Edition. On the Welcome to Minecraft Education Edition screen, choose If you don't have an account, make one. Click View Terms to view the license agreement. When you are ready to play, click Accept Terms and Play. Select Start Lesson. You can access lessons using the lock overlay by logging in to the game with a licensed account, or one that is eligible to try the game for a trial.
